CR Track work

Message from Anna today

All, Over the next few weekends there will be some sort of work going on at the track. I will try and get emails out with times as the weekends get close and we know what the work is going to be. Given that this is Easter weekend not a lot of work will be done, the plan is to clear out thefence on the starting hill and get replacement poles cemented in place for a new fence. We will be out there on Saturday from Noon to 2PM for sure, may be a little longer but for sure a couple hours. Sunday will be later afternoon around 4PM-6PM as I have some family things to take care of, get to see my Grandson WOO HOO! The goal is only the starting hill fence and if we have a few extra hands general ground cleanup of what ever blew in over winter. The following weekends will hopefully start the tracks changes and we will need the raking on those weekends.

Times: Noon-2PM or longer Saturday, 4-6PM SundayWork: Replace Fence on starting hill in the back, general track pickup of garbage.

If you can help that would be great!

On other news we are approved to have a Steel Storage Container in the park which will play host to signups and concessions. During the year if we get a little more in checking we will purchase another one to store track materials we use like the shovels/rakes, and what ever else we use to maintain the track. Also plans in May are to replace the announcing tower since its getting up there in age. We have more plans to get our track rockin and looking great so stay tuned as there will be plenty of things we need help with.

Thanks

  1. Wow, ask and you shall receive, well the fence cleanup part is near complete. Tim Ferry came out and did the cleanup work, now whats left is to put in the new fence. Big thanks to Tim, he also did some stick pick up around the area. We will still walk the area to get what ever else we can.
Way to go Tim, I think is ready to race.

We did find that the previous poles are cemented deep into the hill, so if I can get Tim Ethrington or someone with a saw that can cut through metal out there tomorrow that would be great. Don't think they will be in the way of new fence but good to clean up.

I also hear the track is looking really good, near 100% dry, after this weekend track work. We might have to use the water trailer for a bit, so will check into getting a load of water just in case the parks folks don't get the water fixed in time.
